As time zooms past us bringing us ever closer to the beginning of a new school year, I find myself wondering how many of us are ready for the first day of school.  I am hoping that all of my AP students have made ample progress on the summer assignment, and that you will be ready to hit the ground running on August 4.  As you shop for school supplies, I suggest obtaining a binder that will be used exclusively for AP English.  I give numerous handouts that you will use again and again, so it is important that you have a place for those.  Also, I want you to have a place to keep all of the writing that we do this year so that when test time comes around you have a handy reference for study.  A binder with divider tabs is a really good  idea.

So far, the two students who have posted responses to King Lear have done a great job!  Keep those posts coming, I am trying to look at my page pretty often.  If you have any questions about the summer assignment, shoot me an email or a message on Facebook and we can work it out.  I am a little confused about the grammar site.  Your results are supposed to be mailed to me and I haven’t received them yet.  I may have to work that one out myself.  Don’t stop taking the diagnostic tests, though.  I tried it out, and they give you a wonderful report of the things you need to work on grammatically.  This could save quite a bit of time for us when we come back to school.  Okay, keep reading, keep blogging, and contact me if you need to!  Have a fun summer!

I hope everyone is enjoying a great beginning to his or her summer.  Has anyone had tried the diagnostic tests yet?  I haven’t received any results via email, and I am really anxious to see how this tool works.  Let me know (via email) if anyone needs any help with any technical aspects of the assignment.
